Illumina Films has participated in several documentary film projects since the 1990s.

In 1994, Yvette edited and co-produced the documentary film William Stafford and Robert Bly: A Literary Friendship, directed by Haydn Reiss.This documentary portrays the remarkable last poetry readings of William Stafford before he died in 1994, along with his intimate conversations with longtime friend and colleague, Robert Bly.

Gay Cuba, directed by Sonja de Vries, was the first film ever to describe what has happened to the Gay and Lesbian people of Cuba since the revolution. Yvette edited the final stage of this documentary and prepared the film for the online process.

Other documentary projects include: The Texas Tobacco Ligitation Project (1998), Stanford at the Sunbowl (1997) produced for Stanford University, The Lady or the Tiger by Tom Schlesinger (1996), and Broken Ties (1996) by Debra Baker.
